How It Works
No On-Site Assembly
Our prefab homes are constructed in a controlled environment with high-end sustainable materials stocked in the factory, ready for assembly in the factory of PrefabPads. When factory construction is complete, your home will be delivered to your site and arrive in one finished piece ready for lifting onto your foundation. The utility lines are stubbed out of the bottom of the unit ready for connection by your GC. This entire process takes between three and five months to complete.
1. Choose Your Nanapod
We have a variety of modern, efficiently designed pods to choose from. Pick the one that you like from our inventory.
2. Check Your Site’s Readiness with a General Contractor
Choose a general contractor to prepare the site for your home. We will work together with you and your general contractor to agree on all the details of the project and get everything ready.
3. Reserve the Nanapod design
Complete the reservation process by filling out the Contact Us form on the Prefab Homes page. You will hear back from a representative of PrefabPads who will answer any questions and process your order.
4. Schedule an Architecture Review
You will review your sales agreement and pay an initial deposit which is proportionately refundable based on the plan preparation work done at the time of cancellation. We will review the plans with you and confirm all of the details. You will receive a full set of stamped and sealed plans including foundation for permitting.
5. Apply for permits
If your municipality requires them, now is the time to get those permits in order. We will assist by giving you all the design papers you need and will talk with you and your local builder to make sure everything is set up right.
6. Construction Begins
Once the permits are secured, you will deposit 50% of the full price and that will begin your factory build.
7. Groundwork and Foundation
With your permits in hand, you can work with your general contractor to prepare the site with the foundation needed for your Nanapod.
8. Delivery and Set-up
Time to get excited! Your cabin is delivered on a truck and placed on the prepared foundation by crane, all in one day. Installation is handled by your contractor on your land. Once the utilities are connected you can move in immediately!
